LOST.
I lost my cell phone yesterday. At some point on Friday night it must have fallen out of my pocket because I can’t seem to find it anywhere. I’ve looked all over the place…retracing my steps from dinner at a restaurant to the movies and then back home again. We’ve turned our house inside out searching for it and….nothing.
To make matters worse, I had set it to vibrate at the movie theatre so we aren’t able to hear it ring regardless. When I call the phone it goes straight to voicemail which means that the battery is dead or the phone is off.
I have concluded that there is little hope and that my phone is gone.
I had years of numbers on that damn phone and it’s going to take me a while to get them all back. Some of them I might not be able to. Who knows.
It really got under my skin yesterday. I was driving over to the airport to give Cason a lift home when I realized how angry I was over losing my dumb phone and that I needed to just enjoy the day without being tethered to a stupid ringing piece of plastic.
I’m amazed at how annoyed I was over losing it and then even more amazed at how dependent I’ve become on it.

Yeah man. I’m with Geof. That does suck. I’m sorry to hear it. I can relate to you big time. I will give you my info again when we talk next.
Oh, and just FYI: If your phone has to drop in water of some kind, make sure it’s not salt water. Da salt fries da gears. And then your phone doesn’t work.

The same thing happened to me en route from the cafeteria to German class. The two buildings are about 27 paces apart, and there are only 3 bushes that it could have fallen into, and I’ve all but uprooted each of them to find the phone.
The one upside: I actually liked my older phone better, but my wife had gotten us both new freebies. She’d programmed all her numbers, but I was too lazy.
By the way, thanks for having your record available for listening on the site. I sort of wish it would stream straight through…it seems I have to advance each track manually. There’s probably a good marketing reason why you (or your people) have done it that way. But thanks. I’ve realized that I buy records after the songs have gotten to me a good bit—either from hearing them in a friend’s car or on myspace. That’s how I bought MPJ’s “punches” just a day or two ago. I’ll live with the tunes for a few days and we’ll see what happens.
