28th 2007 Sola Fide.I’ve been taking in a good deal of reading lately. Mostly rooted in a study class on The Reformation that Kierstin and I have been involved with since September. There are so many great teachers and resources here in Nashville and I don’t want to look back on wasted opportunities to learn and rub shoulders with some of these men and their satisfied minds. We were studying Martin Luther’s life and I was moved to tears several times at his insistence that we stand on the Word. Especially the scene at the end of his life. The Solas are so beautiful. Amazing to sit under the weight of it all and let it seep through me. Oh that I would be drenched! In light of my liberated imagination, I’ve learned to keep the pot full of interesting and eclectic things. Here’s a list of what I’m into lately: Books: Albums: Podcasts: Software: Oct
26th 2007 Greenville setlist.Good morning! I just finished writing my setlist for this evening. It’s a solo show with cello accompaniment. I’m excited to be traveling with my friend Hitoshi Yamaguchi on these upcoming dates. 10-26-07 Greenville daylight Oct
24th 2007 More tour dates added. This weekend I’ll be in Greenville, South Carolina performing solo with a cellist. Last weekend was a full band show in Atlanta, Georgia with an upright bassist and a drummer. New songs, new friends and logging more miles during the most beautiful season to tour. Trees explode like paintings. Live music in the fall….there is nothing else like it. It’s good to be back out on the road and dates keep getting added to the schedule. Check them out here. Oct
19th 2007 Stereo Subversion reviews RCVRY.Great reviews keep coming in from various places and we are very excited! Check the newest one out by clicking here. Oct
18th 2007 Colossians Three Sixteen interview.A new interview has been posted over at Colossians Three Sixteen. Check it out here. Great questions about applying the Gospel to all of life and unpacking some of the sources for artistic expression. Other interviews in this series feature Denton,TX singer/songwriter Doug Burr, Don Chaffer of Waterdeep and the prolific Andrew Osenga. Read those here. Thanks to Brent Thomas for the invite. Oct
10th 2007 People go by like a flame.Life is moving fast these days. I can’t seem to get enough rest. It’s early here about 7am and my little boy is still sleeping. Hmmm….where to start? Our house is for sale. I’ll start there. We are considering moving (if our home sells) to an area just outside of Nashville. We found an old victorian on an acre lot in a sleeply little Tennessee town called Kingston Springs. It’s quiet and there are a lot of trees. It’s only a short distance from here but will mostly like be a great fit for us if it all works out. We shall see. Other than that I’ve been reading a lot of books, working in our back office and touring. I had an awesome CD release show in my old stomping grounds of Somerset, PA a couple weekends ago. People really responded to the new music and the road has started to warm up a bit for me. Shows continue to be added, plans continue to be made. I’m still learning that new software and have started to apply it to my live scenario. It’s taken me some time to get used to all of it but it’s coming along nicely. It’s like learning a new instrument. Eli is crawling up a storm and saying “momma” and “dadda”. That is probably the coolest thing I have to report! He loves to laugh and is insatiably curious. I like to think he got those qualities from me. (insert fatherly pride here) To be honest, I look at my wife and listen to my son laughing and I know I am a wealthy man. Life is a vapor and I’m thankful for these gifts. Bring it on, world. |
